Bislett FK – one of the fastest growing football clubs

In 2008, a group of friends who worked together in Oslo wanted to play football against other teams.

They quickly realized that in order to do so, they would either have to join an existing club or start a new one. After speaking with several clubs, they decided to create something of their own. During the registration process, they initially considered naming the club “International Oslo,” as a tribute to the fact that many of the players were from abroad, and as a nod to the legendary football club Internazionale Milano, better known as Inter Milan. However, this name was not approved, so they chose a more Norwegian alternative. Since many of the players lived in the Bislett area, they landed on the name Bislett FK. And so, the club’s name was born – a blend of football passion and local connection.

Today, Bislett FK is one of the fastest-growing football clubs in Oslo. While the club is continuously evolving, we have always stayed true to our core values: inclusion, community, and a passion for football. For the 2024 season, we have seven teams and over 120 players from more than 15 different countries. The club has become a true melting pot, where players of different backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels come together. Whether you’re an experienced player or completely new to football, we believe everyone has a place here, and we are proud of the global spirit that defines us.

As a club, we are also conscious of our role in the community. We want to contribute in every way we can – both on and off the pitch. Whether it’s through charitable initiatives, local partnerships, or simply being a friendly presence in the neighborhood, Bislett FK strives to be more than just a football club – we are a place where everyone can feel a sense of belonging, grow, and thrive.
